Welcome back to The Gateway School after a l-o-o-o-n-n-g winter holiday. The soccer mania is over and South Africa can now continue with a more relaxed pace. At The Gateway we are definitely going to continue with our hard work.

Welkom terug by The Gateway Skool na ‘n l-a-a-a-n-n-g wintervakansie.  Die sokkermania is verby en Suid-Afrika kan nou weer voortgaan met ‘n rustiger lewe. Hier by The Gateway Skool gaan ons beslis voort met ons harde werk.

We are already halfway through the term, with the end of autumn upon us. We are still being blessed with lovely rains and the trees in our grounds are turning beautiful shades of red and yellow, a sure sign that winter is just around the corner.

Dit is reeds die helfte van die termyn en met die einde van die herfs in sig, word ons nog steeds geseёn met lieflike reёns. Ons kan egter reeds baie roesbruin blare in ons pragtige skooltuine sien en weet dus dat die winter om die draai is.

A warm welcome back to all parents, learners and Gateway staff after an enjoyable April holiday! Autumn has arrived and we trust that everybody had a well deserved rest, and that you are excited about the new term with all its activities. The revue practise will continue in earnest this term and we are looking forward to the performances in September.

'n Hartlike welkom terug aan alle ouers, leerders en personeel na ‘n heerlike Aprilvakansie! Herfs is hier en ons hoop almal is uitgerus en opgewonde oor die nuwe termyn wat op hande is. Dit gaan ‘n kort maar besige termyn wees. Revue oefening gaan voort in volle swang en almal sien uit na die opening daarvan in September.

Although the term started at a relatively easy pace, it soon changed when the learners started to get themselves into shape for our annual inter house athletics meeting.  Due to the inclement weather uninterrupted practices were not always possible, but the athletes persevered and this was evident when we had our meeting. 

Na 'n rustige begin  het die kwartaal skielik momentum gekry en die leerders het met groot entoesiasme begin oefen vir die atletiekbyeenkoms.  Aanvanklik het die reën verhoed dat hulle volstoom kon oefen, maar nadat hulle eers aan die gang was, kon niks hulle keer nie.

We would like to welcome back all our parents, learners, teachers, assistants and administration staff. We trust you have enjoyed the holiday and are as excited as we are to meet the challenges of the first term of 2010.

Ons verwelkom ons ouers, leerders, onderwysers, assistente en administrasie personeel terug. Ons vertrou dat julle ’n heerlike vakansie geniet het en ons is opgewonde oor die uitdagings vir 2010.

Another year has passed by in a flash. We can look back on a very successful year where learners once again demonstrated just how talented they are.

Nog ‘n jaar het met ongelooflike spoed sy einde bereik. Ons kan  terugkyk na ‘n baie suksesvolle jaar waarin die leerders weereens hulle talente uitgeleef het.

The goal of The Gateway School is to provide an individualised learning environment that fosters the holistic development of each learner and prepares them for their future as an adult.

By The Gateway Skool skep ons ’n gespesialiseerde leeromgewing waarin geїndividualiseerde onderrig plaasvind wat elke leerder in totaliteit ontwikkel en voorberei  vir die volwasse wêreld.

We are already halfway through the Third Term and are thankful for the warmer weather which tells us that spring is on its way.  For many of our learners the past week has been very exciting as it was the Eisteddfod! Once again our school did exceptionally well.

Ons is reeds halfpad deur die derde termyn en ons is dankbaar vir warmer weer wat die lente aankondig. Vir baie van ons leerders was die afgelope week ‘n opwindende tyd - Eistedfodd! Ons skool het weereens baie goed presteer..

We would like to welcome all our parents, learners, teachers, assistants and admin staff back after the winter holidays. We are all geared-up to meet the exciting challenges that are facing us this term.

Ons wil ons ouers, leerders, onderwysers, administratiewe personeel en assistente hartlik verwelkom na die lang wintervakansie. Ons  is almal gereed vir die opwindende uitdagings wat ons hierdie termyn tegemoet gaan.

Life without purpose is useless and wasted. It is what you hope for, the things you try to accomplish and strive for that give meaning to life. Sometimes we are so busy with everyday life that we forget to focus on the things that really matter.

Die lewe sonder ‘n doel is waardeloos. Dit is wat jy hoop, probeer bereik of waarna jy strewe wat sin aan die lewe gee. Soms is ons so besig met die alledaagse dinge dat ons vergeet om te fokus op wat werklik saakmaak.

The first term has already passed and we trust that you had a wonderful rest and enjoyed the Easter weekend.

Die eerste kwartaal van 2009 is reeds agter die rug en ons vertrou dat almal ‘n heerlike ruskans en Paasnaweek geniet het.

We are already halfway through the first term and the new learners and their parents that joined us in the beginning of the year have settled in nicely.

Ons is halfpad deur die kwartaal en die nuwe leerders en hul ouers, wat aan die begin van die jaar by ons aangesluit het, is reeds tuis by The Gateway Skool.
