Beauty & Nail Technology

The subject, Beauty and Nail Technology, was introduced at The Gateway School at the beginning of 2016. Several girls that are 14 years and older receive instruction in this subject to develop self-directed skills and knowledge as assistants to nail technologists, beauticians, or make-up artists. The learners will be able to integrate the generic salon requisite skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes with those specific to the beauty industry, ensuring that the business in which they operate runs smoothly and offers excellent customer service according to the industry standards.

The subject will enhance the self-image of the learners while they practise back and neck massages, facial and back cleanses, manicures, pedicures, and nail art. The learners will furthermore be able to conduct the prescribed beauty service in a professional manner and will maintain service excellence in their operations, after the completion of the learning programme.
