Welcome To The gateway school

A Supportive Individual Approach

The Gateway School is committed to excellent curriculum delivery. We follow the National Curriculum, and focus on differentiated teaching methods to discover the learners areas of strengths thus building self-confidence and assisting them in achieving their potential. The school offers a broad curriculum and ensures a healthy balance between subjects and a skills development programme. The school expands on the curriculum by creating opportunities for learners to apply gained skills and knowledge in a real life situation. This is made possible by the strong vocational training programme, offered by the school. The multi-disciplinary staff at the school builds strong relationships with the learners and perseveres in nurturing a supportive school environment in which every learner is inspired and developed. The small class size allows staff to provide individual attention to every learner and at the same time differentiating their teaching so as to ensure high achievement across the curriculum.

A warm, inviting school culture

The staff at the school endeavour to create a culture of learning and teaching in which every learner feels secure and confident. The recognition of every childs achievement therefore forms an integral part of The Gateway Schools approach.

The Gateway School Success Story

In this category, The Gateway School would like to celebrate the success stories of some of our former learners. We, at the school believe in helping our learners to become ready for the “real world”. As part of the Life Skills learning programme, exposure to the Open Labour Market takes place on Thursdays. After a multi disciplinary team has completed screening and assessment, selected learners are placed at businesses to work. Some of our learners, however are able to start their careers based on sporting abilities practised at school, such as their outstanding swimming abilities. Our first learner that we would like to celebrate is Tumelo Molepo.
Tumelo, a previous learner of the school is an avid swimmer and as such is currently a Superintendent of Gauteng Public Pools in Boksburg. He is also representing Logwood Adult Centre for swimming. Mr Molepo came to visit the school and tell us personally about his success after school.
Well done Tumelo, The Gateway School is proud of you!
